Most of what you want to keep, you find on a laptop. The LinkWell extension puts it in your vault with one click — and by the time you pick up your phone, it is already there.
Install it from your browser’s add-on store and pin the icon. That is the whole setup — there is no dashboard to configure.
In the app, Settings → Account → Connect a browser shows a short code — type it into the extension, or scan the QR code the extension shows. No sign-in in the browser, whatever account you use.
Alt+Shift+S on Windows and Linux, Ctrl+Shift+S on a Mac. The title, description, favicon and preview image are read from the live tab and saved with it.
The link lands in the same vault the app syncs from, so it is waiting for you the next time you open LinkWell on your phone.
The phone app is local-first: your vault is a database on the device, and it needs nothing from us to work. The extension cannot be — it runs on a different machine, so the only place it can put a link is the cloud vault your phone syncs from.
That vault runs on servers we pay for every month, which is why it sits on the subscription rather than the one-time Lifetime purchase. We would rather you read that here than discover it after paying.
See how the plans splitThe extension is deliberately small. It has no content script sitting on every page, no analytics of its own, and no server of ours in the middle — it writes directly to your own vault, and the security rules make sure it can only ever write to yours.
The page is read at the moment you press save or hit the shortcut. Nothing is read, stored or sent at any other time.
The link goes from your browser to your own vault. There is no LinkWell server sitting between the two collecting a copy.
Every paired browser is listed in the app under Connect a browser, with a Remove button that cuts it off on the spot. Disconnect at the bottom of the popup does the same from the browser side. Details are in the privacy policy.
The extension ships to the Chrome Web Store and Firefox Add-ons around the same time LinkWell reaches the phone stores. Join the waitlist and you will hear about both in the same email.
